Bigger plan dropping soon too. If you like the Go plan, this one's gonna hit home for y'all.
Anthropic is ending free access to Fable 5 for Claude subscribers.
Starting June 23, users on Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans will need to spend credits to use Fable 5 after its free access period ends on June 22.
Why?
β’ Fable 5 demand has been far higher than expected
β’ It's Anthropic's first public Mythos-class AI and is expensive to run
β’ Anthropic says it may extend the free period, but nothing is confirmed
Fable 5 launched on June 9 and quickly gained attention for its:
β’ Advanced coding abilities
β’ Long-running agent workflows
β’ Vision capabilities
β’ Built-in safeguards for risky queries
Fable was banned by U.S. but now it's accessible.
Developers are already racing to squeeze in one last weekend of free usage before the paywall kicks in.
Here's the gap behind that near-tie.
* Claude Fable 5 lists at $10 / $50 per million input/output tokens.
* GLM-5.2 lists at $1.40 / $4.40.
Roughly a tenth of the price, for a plan within a rounding error of the frontier model that won last time.
