@ytilis@matthew_rs @maxxhoff @kevinlowens@Jstnorv10@bgmasters That’s not what I said. I said that if shareholders could boost the amount of green in their bank account by 20% just by hiring minorities, they would have done it.
Why haven’t they?
@0charm @onyxangel2021 @Jborman9 @Jstnorv10@bgmasters Also, that study was not done by a psychologist. It’s like if I cited study by a political scientist finding no evidence to support global warming. They had no training in factor analysis.
@0charm @onyxangel2021 @Jborman9 @Jstnorv10@bgmasters It’s not pseudoscience, look up “Intelligence: knowns and unknowns.” Psychologists have found a persistent gap for 40 years now. Do you not trust the experts?
@Jstnorv10@matthew_rs @maxxhoff @kevinlowens@bgmasters Shareholders elect the CEO. If CEO pay is harming overall profitability, then shareholders get less money. If that’s what’s going on, why aren’t they pushing back? Are they just trying to screw over their income flow for shits and giggles?
@onyxangel2021 @Jborman9 @Jstnorv10@bgmasters Companies care about skill and expertise. They don’t hire people who are gonna be a liability to the company. It’s a fact that - on average - ethnic groups differ in their levels of cognitive ability. It’s a primary contributing factor to low upper division diversity.
@Jstnorv10@matthew_rs @maxxhoff @kevinlowens@bgmasters McKinsey study has the same issues as the Bain one. No control variables and it’s non-academic.
Again, I ask you: why don’t shareholders demand increased c-suite diversity to boost their profits? Are they actively trying to oppress minorities even if it means less money?
@Jstnorv10@bgmasters It was a corporate study by Bain and Co, so no peer review. It also doesn’t control for co-factors, such as consumer demands and shareholder interests. If diversity was the magic touch to boost company performance and profits, it would have been done years ago.
We tend to assume that people who are born poor and get rich will be more sympathetic to the plight of the poor than will those who are born rich and stay rich. But it's the other way around. https://t.co/4gPUV93vSi
@triumph68@SwipeWright@MsMelChen “Living document” means the addition of amendments and reasonable interpretations of what things like “speech” includes (e.g. internet speech). It doesn’t mean mental gymnastics to extrapolate the 14th amendment to include abortion and contraception
@squid_uagayboi@NordyJ@AmericanAtheist Great, then when non-Christian schools are discriminated against, you’re more than free to provide evidence in a court of law
@squid_uagayboi@NordyJ@AmericanAtheist If you can show that a non-Christian school was unable to get funding under the law, then that’s standing for a discrimination suit. They have the same rights as anyone to do this.
