I saw a story this morning that reminded me that, amidst all the bad news we hear daily, there are still good people quietly doing their best.
Someone narrated how their vehicle developed a serious problem along the Jos-Abuja road. Anyone familiar with that road knows the fear and tension that comes with a sudden breakdown, especially in isolated areas.
According to the story, army officers at a nearby military checkpoint noticed and immediately stepped in to help not just with empty “sorry” words or watching from afar. One soldier reportedly went completely under the vehicle to fix the fault so the travellers could continue safely.
Moments like this deserve to be shared too, because people often remember security agencies only during controversies, brutality or bad news. Yet many officers are out there helping stranded travellers, protecting communities, enduring harsh weather and risking their lives daily without cameras or applause.
A little act of kindness on dangerous roads can instantly calm fear. Imagine being stranded on a lonely highway and seeing people genuinely willing to help instead of taking advantage that alone can restore hope.
May God continue protecting every security officer genuinely serving humanity with a clean heart. Many of them sacrifice comfort, family time and even their lives daily for people they may never know personally.
