It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Bobby Weir. We send him off the way he sent so many of us on our way: with a farewell that isn’t an ending, but a blessing. A reward for a life worth livin'. https://t.co/2qdBbh80v1

I’m a neuroscientist.
You’d never keep your dog inside for 10 hours without a walk, skip its meals, or keep it up all night - so why treat your brain that way?
Take yourself for a walk.
I am 82 years young today, and feeling so grateful.
This past year has made me reflect on the gift of this life.
Thank you to each person who has been part of this incredible journey: my family, friends, teammates, colleagues, and the countless people who inspire me daily. And most especially, Ilana, my partner in all things.
I’ve spent my life believing in the power of sport to change the world. I’m as energized as ever to keep striving for equality, inclusion, and opportunity for all.
Here’s to more learning and more listening, and of course, more joy along the way.
Let's go, 82. I'm ready for you.

Listen to this interaction between Coach K and Kobe Bryant in the 2008 Olympics
“Those are Lakers shots, not shots that are trying to win a Gold Medal. I can’t let you take them”
“Is that all? I agree. I won’t take them”
Players want accountability

Different stories. Same truth.
🏀 Greatness lives in the basics.

Kobe Bryant said something that changed my life:
“The best never get bored with the basics.”
That’s how mastery is built — during the unseen hours.

NBA legends declare Larry Bird the 🤴 of trash talk. Yet, as a #BrainGame coach, I declare LB the 🤴 of mental rehearsal bc he’d say what he was going to do, which primed his mind and muscles, and then went and did it. See B Scott around the 3:45 mark.
I wonder if Coach Pitino had any of these halftime speeches while at @PCAthletics bball?!?
Brain Game Coach perspective: Coach P is right!! When adversity hits and hits hard, what you say to yourself and how you train will help you rise above!
Coaches: warm players up mentally before or after you help them do a physical warm-up.
How?
Ask them questions...
You can make these questions super simple (what - see picture below)
You can make these questions a little more complicated (how - see picture below)
Then what?
Ask players to picture their answers for 30 seconds
By doing so you're helping them run an inner movie that helps them feel a greater sense of readiness for training
Next, get them sharing their answers with team mates for 30 seconds. This drives communication and teamwork
