@FalkoResearch You are right. It is a phenomena in Sweden called “pipkrake” and is a result from when moist in the tempered ground is rising to a higher, colder layer, form ice crystals and when growing upwards create “pillars”. The corresponding phenomena on old branches is called “håris”.
