Please, please, please...if a teenager (or anyone for that matter) tells you they want to die, have sort of a plan, and/or start cutting on themselves (even if it isn't deep), don't ignore it. Get help anyway you can. And let them hate you for caring.

In a moment of self-pity during a very bad day, I asked my best friend: what do you call someone who rarely has anything go right, brings it on themselves, & still wonders "why me?" I'm thinking..."pathetic" (for me anyway). His response..."cursed." He had to go & make me laugh.
