How does fetus change from week 9 onwards? The fetal period begins at week 9 of pregnancy. This is the stage where the newly formed organs enter a process of growth, differentiation, and functional maturation.
🔹 Weeks 9–12: Rapid growth of the brain and limbs, and the beginning of early movements.
🔹 Weeks 13–27: Development of the nervous system, growth of bones and muscles, and the gradual maturation of organs.
🔹 Week 28 to birth: Weight gain, rapid brain growth, and further maturation of the lungs and other vital systems.🔬 Important Note: At this stage, the fetus does not just get "bigger"; the functionality and connection between different body systems also become continuously more complex. If you are interested in embryology, genetics, and the amazing mechanisms of the human body.
