Everything starts with Commitment.
Committed teams…
- Practice with a purpose
- Listen with their eyes
- Are energy givers
- Accept coaching
- Show up early
- Give 100%
- Stay late
Are you committed?
When you're unhappy with your current situation, you have three choices:
One, improve your attitude.
Two, make changes to your situation.
Or three, do nothing and remain unhappy.
Four healthy attitudes to have about competition:
1. Effort and improvement are more important than winning.
2. Cheating to win is never okay.
3. You can compete hard on the field, and be friendly off of it.
4. Winning/losing doesn’t change your true worth as a person.
Commit to not complaining.
Commit to not getting defensive.
Commit to not being entitled.
Commit to not gossiping.
Commit to not being negative.
Commit to not being lazy.
Commit to living a better standard.
Every coach in the final four is different. Different personalities, different leadership styles, different culture systems.
There is no “right” way. You can learn from them but you can’t copy them.
Be authentic. Lead from who you are. And lead yourself first.
Be just as careful with what goes into your mind as you are with what goes into your body. What you read, watch, and listen to makes a great impact on your mental health and athletic performance.
Any athlete can reach peak performance for a moment or two. Only the mentally strongest athletes can maintain peak performance for an extended period of time.
Four ways to defeat a more talented opponent:
1. Give more effort, physically and mentally.
2. Be more poised under pressure.
3. Play smarter strategically.
4. Work better as a team.
The best are willing to be challenged.
The best are willing to be corrected.
The best are willing to be wrong.
The best are willing to adjust.
The best are willing to listen.
Humility is the advantage.
5 Winning Mindsets
1. Winners compete in practice.
2. Winners prepare for pressure.
3. Winners communicate clearly.
4. Winners protect the standard.
5. Winners lift others.
Winning is a choice.
Make it daily.

Your life will get better when you take ownership.
Your performance in games depends mainly on two things:
1. Your preparation before the game.
2. Your mindset during the game.
To perform your best, you need to be fully prepared and mentally locked in.
