🇬🇭 The alleged “juju man” at the center of the Agona Amenfi incident, where police officers reportedly fired multiple warning shots before shooting him in the hand and arresting him, has finally spoken.
He dismissed claims that the incident was linked to any form of spiritual gun protection.
According to him, the deities he serves instructed him to visit his uncle’s kingdom to help recover money allegedly owed by some individuals. He claimed that some residents accused him of plotting to destool his uncle, who is the chief, prompting the chief to call in the police.
He alleges that police officers were then ordered to shoot him, leading to the incident.
My colleague @CalebKudah is truly a remarkable man
He met this young lady hawking in traffic while covering a story. He was touched about her plight
He did a story about the girl, managed to secure scholarship for her, followed her journey closely and today she’s an #Ashesigrad
Warmest congratulations to Christina Koch(@Astro_Christina) on her historic achievement as the first woman to orbit the Moon as part of the Artemis II mission.
Alongside Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Jeremy Hansen, she successfully completed a 10-day journey around the Moon, setting a new record as the woman who has traveled the farthest distance from Earth.
This remarkable feat builds on her previous accomplishment of spending 328 days aboard the International Space Station, demonstrating exceptional dedication and excellence in space exploration.
Her story is a powerful inspiration to our young girls, especially in the Volta Region, reminding them that with determination and focus, they can achieve greatness in science and beyond.
Once again, congratulations to Christina Koch for blazing a trail and inspiring a new generation of leaders and innovators.
I was deeply honored to be enstooled twice on the same day, first as Mama Adjagba I of Kedzi during the 2026 Norvikporgbe Za Festival, and then, as Mama Tortsogbe I of Sokpoe during the 40th Tortsogbeza Festival.
We must continue to engage with our traditions and respect our cultures in ways that benefit our societies. I accept the responsibility with gratitude, and I ask for the support of the people of Kedzi and Sokpoe to serve in a way that advances shared growth, opportunity and progress.
Once again, I extend my congratulations to the people of Kedzi and Sokpoe for their vibrant and successful celebrations.
Today, I joined our colleague Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, DCEs, and a host of dignitaries at Mahama Park in Adidome–Central Tongu to pay a final tribute to a great son of our land, Mr. Alfred Amoah Dodovi (Agbadago).
The solemn funeral service, officiated by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, was a fitting celebration of a life well lived marked by unwavering faith, selfless leadership, and deep commitment to family and community. As a founding member and former Constituency Chairman of the NDC in Bamboi, and later Bole–Bamboi Constituency Chairman, he played a pivotal role in shaping our political landscape, including supporting His Excellency John Dramani Mahama in his early parliamentary journey.
On behalf of H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the entire NDC fraternity, a hefty donation was made to support the family during this time of grief.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
Alfred Dodovi, Hedenyuie! Dzo Agbe!
As part of my working visit to the United Kingdom to engage key development partners for the benefit of the Volta Region, I paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Her Excellency Sabah Zita Benson.
Our discussions focused on strengthening partnerships, promoting investment opportunities, and advancing priority development initiatives in the Volta Region. I am encouraged by her warm reception and commitment to supporting our efforts to drive growth and improve livelihoods back home.
Together, we remain dedicated to building strong international relationships that deliver real impact for our people in the Volta Region and beyond.
On this blessed occasion of Eid al-Fitr, I extend warm greetings to all our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Volta Region and across Ghana.
Eid is a time of gratitude, reflection, and renewed commitment to peace, compassion, and unity. May the spirit of sacrifice and generosity shown during Ramadan continue to guide us in our daily lives.
Let us strengthen our bonds and work together for the progress of our region and nation. May Allah bless every home with joy, good health, and prosperity.
Eid Mubarak.
