@joybhattacharj Now, we need some good pace bowling all-rounders to emerge. Most of the upcoming bowlers are not good with the bat and that becomes a big problem for team balance in international T20 where there is no luxury of an impact player.
@joybhattacharj Or even the likes of Padmakar Shivalkar, Rajinder Goel, VV Kumar and to some extent even Dilip Doshi missing out when our spin quartet were in full flow.
@sardesairajdeep Problem is that our top 6 batters can't roll their arm over (unlike Tendulkar, Sehwag, Ganguly of the earlier era) & Nos 9 - 11 (Kuldeep, Bumrah & Siraj) are not dependable with the bat. So, the 5th bowler (Axar/Nitish) & the 5th batter (Sundar) come in with additional skills.
@KKRiders India's top 28 T20 players (WC and Zim tour combined) and only 1 player from the IPL champions. Food for thought definitely. What about Venky, Varun, Harshit etc?
@Alishaimran111@_FaridKhan Why can't the Chairman call the skipper "bahut din se call nahin aaya, sab khairiyat?" It's one organisation after all. In a professional business organisation, it would always happen.
@SportifiedSid Cricket can exist in Olympics, the way Soccer does. You don't have the best soccer players playing at the Olympics, yet, it is a big draw. And Olympics can further globalise cricket. And one more medal hope for India. All in all good for the game and us.
@marora7275@bhogleharsha@BoriaMajumdar@ImRo45 We have to allow our players to play in the foreign leagues to develop exposure in different conditions. Otherwise, why after the launch of IPL, we have never won the T20 WC. And we have to treat T20 as a different sport and have a separate team and coaching staff.
@sanjaymanjrekar The team batting first should get 10 or 15 runs extra as bonus. Now the toss winning captain can accordingly decide whether to bat or field first. It will even out the situation to a large extent.
VK could have got that extra 10-15 runs if he would have continued like Shreyas and beyond. Making him play like Pant or SKY, you are not getting a dasher nor the finisher of yore.
@BiswadevS In my view , We also lost yesterday’s match because Shreyas played sensibly like Virat with SR of some 120 odd! Karthik and Jadeja could not contribute later under huge RR pressre and it was almost gone case by that time.Extra 10 runs from Shreyas could have made the difference
@marora7275 Kholi's T20i career strike rate is around 140 which is very good without trying to be a Pant or SKY. If he plays 50 balls, he would get around 70. If others go ballistic and score at a strike rate of 180, we get 126 more plus a few extras, we get 200+.
This can happen when you change his batting style. Can't expect him to play like a Pant or SKY. He should play like Kohli which has won us so many T20 matches. And in a team of hitters, you need someone to hold the innings together. Recovering from 2-3 wkts down in pp isn't easy.
@marora7275 Yesyerday's game was a good example where an accomplished batter of Kohli's class playing sensibly with SKY could have seen us through.
Helter -skelter approach may get us 2 - 3 down for almost nothing in PP from where to recover becomes very difficult - like the 2nd match.
