There is a particularly obnoxious genre of “IRL content” where a camera is treated like diplomatic immunity.

This Canadian streamer was in Vietnam, repeatedly filming an Indian man who was explicitly telling him to get the camera off his face. He kept going. Then came the confrontation, accusations of racism, and eventually the slap.

I don’t endorse hitting people. But spare me the framing that this is simply an innocent creator being “attacked by Indians.”

You cannot provoke strangers, monetise their discomfort, ignore repeated demands to stop filming and then edit the story so that your camera magically turns you into the victim. To top that all saying that’s why no one likes Indians! Bruh what. It’s a strange line to deliver from Vietnam, a country that calls India a Comprehensive Strategic Partner. Maybe the problem isn’t Indians, it’s your content model needing an entire nationality to be the villain.

Also livestream is not a licence to humiliate people. And Indians abroad are not NPCs in somebody else’s content farm.
