Amazon having the default option to watch ARGENTINA, 1985 be English dubbed instead of Spanish with subtitles is wild and original language should always be the default option
CLOSE deserves to win Best International at the Oscars, a very touching film seen through the eyes of the (amazing btw) child actors playing best friends. Loved it.
Kinda bummed by CAT PERSON, buildup is promising but it does not stick the landing whatsoever. Also Nick Braun might not be cut out for movies and should prob stick to TV. Love Emilia Jones however.
Yea MISSING is basically just as good as SEARCHING and improves upon it in every aspect except the story (unfortunately the main issue). Still insanely thrilling and impeccable use of technology in a way that feels real.
I really wish PLANE leaned more into the campy aspect, because it was so god damn boring. Some unintentionally hilarious lines and action sequences but overall another in a long line of boring Gerard Butler action flicks.
M3GAN is basically exactly as fun as it looks, but I really wish they had an R rating so they could’ve gone even crazier. For sure worth watching in a packed theater for the reactions alone.
BROKER: A lighthearted but emotional road-trip sort of family drama, with interwoven storylines that all come to fruition before a great ending. Could’ve been a bit shorter while getting the point across but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. 8/10
PUSS IN BOOTS THE LAST WISH: For sure an upgrade over the original spin-off of the Shrek character, with an actually intriguing character study on the titular Puss and some honestly funny moments. For a non-Pixar animated movie this is very much up there. 7/10
AVATAR THE WAY OF WATER: Somehow an even bigger spectacle than the first, and absolutely worth the 14 year wait. Stunning visuals and an emotional story make this the blockbuster of the year. Never doubt James Cameron. 9/10
SPOILER ALERT: A very standard romance (wouldn’t even call it rom-com) that just feels incredibly long for no reason. Fairly emotional at times but it drags so much that it kinda ruins some of the more touching scenes. 5/10
