I've been laboring over emulating transmittance, or the filtering of light through translucent materials. Trees and certain plants have more radial normals as well. Surprising how much this helps my eye resolve the scene in motion. #gamedev#indiedev#solodev
Ladders, part 2. Animations slightly improved, but I'd like to fix the discontinuities when "starting" an action animation, as opposed to blending into/between cyclical ones. #gamedev#indiedev#solodev
Still some work to do on animations, but I've implemented functional ladder behavior. Hiding more interaction details until they're ironed out... #gamedev#indiedev#solodev
@handlebardev Partially procedural, partially authored. I’ve waffled on how aggressive I want to get with procedural elements, or incorporating more “macros” for generating procedural object clusters, which I can then revise manually, as I fill out the overworld.
@Invinium I think Nioh is an exceptional series but it jumped on the Soulslike train a bit before others started to. More of a Souls/Ninja Gaiden hybrid
@AnalogDreamDev The whole work is coming along swimmingly, but I only just now noticed the RGB LED screenspace effect. Imparts an extraordinary mood to the picture on top of what's already being rendered.
Experimenting with techniques for grass color distribution, compared to random color mixture. More to adjust on multiple fronts here... #gamedev#indiedev
@Cinder_quillRS@CentroLeaks Wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with "Sea & Sky", despite an unrelated puzzle game with a similar name being recently released
@VICE883 These are typically rhetorical arguments meant to subtly stunt on lower-status/less popular people, and not genuine recommendations for improvement. Consider it a backhanded dig instead of coming from an alternate social value ethos.
