People on this continent do not die from natural disasters. They die from natural events that governments had every tool, every warning and every opportunity to prevent, and chose not to.

We live in an era where engineers in seismic zones have mastered the science of building structures that sway violently during earthquakes, absorb the shock, and remain standing.

And then there is Africa, where seasonal rains kill people every single year and cause thousands to loose their homes.
Not hurricanes or cyclones. Mere seasonal rains that arrive on schedule every year, that meteorologists predict months in advance, that have been falling on the same cities and the same neighborhoods for decades.

Governance is our true national disaster on this continent.

Sonko critique Diomaye where needed unlike Darboe.
Sonko openly pushed and spoke of their promises unlike Darboe who was making excuses.
Darboe/UDP/Barrow first priority was age limit instead of the laws that killed Sandeng.
