We found a new club! March 2039 and we're taking over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. 9 games to go and 3 points ahead of the relegation zone. This year will be about ensuring safety. Then we can build to become a top-half team and hopefully reach Europe in a few years.

I was pretty happy about the #fm23 squad planner feature announcement. I'd been keeping this in my local spreadsheet for years, so it could only work great in game, right? -- Turns out, I'm still using my spreadsheet instead. 🤷

Despite losing half our central defense in the winter break to Bayern and Hertha, we somehow manage to finish 7th. This is good enough for the EC2 because Hoffenheim win the DFB Pokal and go to the Champions League. This is starting to develop Lazio vibes.

Anyway. As a consequence, I have resigned from the Liverpool post on Oct 23 2038. Going to holiday until January and will then see if any offers are coming in...

The goal of my #fm22 journeyman save always was to start in a small league and make my way to a large club. Ironically, now that I'm managing Liverpool for slightly more than a season, I got hit by FM fatigue and cannot get myself to play. :(

I can't really pinpoint the why. Maybe the Premier League isn't clicking with me. Maybe I should switch tactics because playing the same strikerless 4-3-3-0 for 17 seasons is boring. Maybe I don't enjoy the great players I'm having at the club. Maybe it's just time for a break.
