The Constitution of India guarantees One Nation, One Citizenship. No State Government can create a parallel mechanism that undermines this constitutional principle.

The Karnataka Congress Government's Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) notification raises serious constitutional and national security concerns. It risks weakening citizenship verification and undermining the Union Government's exclusive authority over citizenship.

I have written to the Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji seeking immediate intervention to examine the constitutional validity of the notification, keep its implementation in abeyance, and ensure that no PRC is issued without comprehensive citizenship verification by the competent Central authorities.

The Constitution is supreme. National security is non-negotiable.

Held a press conference today at the BJP State Office, Jagannath Bhavan, condemning the Karnataka Congress government's move to issue Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs), which undermines the constitutional principle of One Nation, One Citizenship.

While the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is underway, the state govt is proceeding with the issuance of PRCs. This is used to regularise illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, and raised concerns about migration into Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka following the Bihar and West Bengal elections. Congress is encouraging BLOs to conduct mass SIR enumeration form filling while simultaneously pursuing the PRC process.

Instead of strengthening verification, the govt is pursuing appeasement politics at the cost of national security and the integrity of the electoral system.

ಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಆರಂಭಗೊಂಡು ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳೇ ಆಗುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಇಂದಿನ ತನಕ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲಾ ವಿದ್��ಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಿಸಿಯೂಟದ ಅಕ್ಕಿ ನೀಡಲೂ ಅಸಮರ್ಥ @INCKarnataka ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನ ನೀಡಲೂ ಅಯೋಗ್ಯತನ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿರುವ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಏನೆನ್ನಬೇಕು?

ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಅಕ್ಕಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಬಿಸಿಯೂಟ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅಕ್ಕಿಯ ದಾಸ್ತಾನು ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಖಾಲಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬಡ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನ ನೀಡಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸ ಬರಿದಾಗಿದೆಯೇ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ @DKShivakumar ಅವರೇ?

ಬಡ ವರ್ಗದ ಮಕ್ಕ���ಿಗೆ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ನೀಡುವ ಬಿಸಿಯೂಟ ನೆರವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ��ಟ ನೀಡಲೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಅನುಮತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರೂ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಇಂದಿನ ತನಕ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಬೇಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯ ಪರಮಾವಧಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಲೇ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ 15 ದಿನ ಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಿರುವಾಗ, ಈಗ ಅನುಮತಿ ಪಡೆದು ಅಕ್ಕಿ ವಿತರಣೆ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರೂ, ಅಕ್ಕಿ ತಲುಪುವ ಮುನ್ನವೇ ಈಗಿನ ದಾಸ್ತಾನು ಖಾಲಿಯಾದರೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಉಪವಾಸ ಹಾಕುತ್ತೀರೇನು? ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕೂ ಕಲ್ಲು ಹಾಕಿ ಪಾಪ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿ. ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ಎಂದು ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.

A few weeks ago, an elderly woman lost her life while trying to cross the road at Banashankari. It was another tragedy that could have been prevented.

For nearly seven years, I have fought to get the Banashankari Skywalk built. We got a practical, commuter-friendly circular design prepared so people would actually use it. We secured ₹45 crore in the BBMP Budget. The foundation stone was laid. Yet, despite all this, the project has not even begun.

Should it really take this many years to build a simple skywalk?

I have once again written to Bengaluru Development Minister @krishnabgowda, requesting him to ensure that the approved Banashankari Skywalk is taken up immediately and not replaced by a proposed B-SMILE flyover that cannot provide the same level of pedestrian safety, accessibility and seamless connectivity between the TTMC, Metro Station, Market and Temple.

I remain hopeful that the Minister will personally intervene and finally make this long-pending public safety project a reality.

Bengaluru must put people before road projects. Every delay puts more lives at risk.
