THE SKY ERUPTED JUST BEFORE IMPACT

The sky over Marion, Kansas turned into a giant strobe light just before hurricane-force winds swept through the area.

Relentless lightning illuminated the clouds from within, creating an eerie scene that looked more like daylight breaking through the darkness than a thunderstorm.
