Plus it makes their swaps legit and since theyre going for the majority they should want us to think of it as legit and not from backroom deals

@Mark_Warden59 @Mikeggibbs Exactly!!! Its not against the rules but it would make me very upset if the person and policies I voted for dont matter because they crossed the floor. A byelection should be triggered to see if the voters feel the same as the MP

What matters is that now they are calling for the right thing. No matter the party, those living in the riding should have a say.

But given how our political system functions, as a whole, the nation did not vote for a majority. Regardless of party we should get a byelection.

@TheToolGuy4 @DimitrisSoudas @PierrePoilievre @CPC_HQ Yes but he didnt do it to gain a majority. Either way i think a byelection should have been triggered but one case that doesnt affect the balance of power vs 4 that looks to give a majority we didnt vote for are two different things

@DimitrisSoudas @PierrePoilievre @CPC_HQ No of course not. I would welcome them. Contingent that they win a byelection. Because their constituants didnt vote for a conservative to begin with. The issue isnt floor crossing, its doing so without approval of the ones who gave the MP this position.

@ScoreFloor @mario4thenorth I most certainly wouldnt. Maybe some would but dont generalize. A floor crossing should ALWAYS trigger a byelection no matter the party. Its unfair to the voters who picked the winning party. If they win the byelection then fine, but doing so without voter approval is disgusting

@FakeBritTweets @mario4thenorth This is a cheap way of achieving a majority. Hold an election, polls show he wins a majority anyways so at least let folks vote on it. That way the voters get accurate representation rather than having the one they voted for switch parties, betraying what the voters wanted

@AlexMack128 @mario4thenorth Idk as a conservative myself i would be pretty upset if the shoe was on the other foot. I dont mind floor crossing, but i do think it should force a byelection to let their constituants vote for the party they want. No matter which part. I am consistent on this issue regardless.

Doesnt make them wrong now, just like liberals werent wrong to be mad then. Voters should be able to vote for an MP without fear of them swapping to a different party uncontested.

@nowayreallystop @mario4thenorth I feel its a bit unfair to point fingers at past iterations of a party. We as people change beliefs, so do parties. Its easy to say that they should have voted differently then. But that doesnt make their outrage wrong now. This is no way to gain a majority no matter who leads.

Thats it, didnt even push them close to gaining control. 4 MPs in quick succession swapping to liberal so that they can skirt a minority which we elected. We should actually elect a majority govmt.
