Carmelo completed Woodville High School’s plumbing program AND passed the Texas state tradesman exam meaning he stepped into adulthood with specialized training, an industry credential, and a career path already in motion. 🙌🏾

Now, he’s working as a second year tradesman with Local 68 Plumbing in Beaumont, Texas, gaining valuable experience and building his earning potential while many young people his age are still trying to figure out what they want to do.

“It gave me a chance to actually step up in life,” Carmelo said.

And THIS is why skilled trades matter. 👏🏾 A four-year college degree isn’t the only pathway to success. Programs like this can give young people the skills, credentials, and opportunity to build a stable and successful future.

You asked for results, we made the changes necessary for this FBI to deliver- one example, DNA:

We are statutorily required under the “DNA Fingerprint Act of 2005” to receive and process collected DNA samples from federally convicted offenders, arrestees, and non-U.S. citizen detainees.

These samples are required to be sent to the FBI Laboratory Division (LD) for processing – we get around 50k a month. This literally solves crimes across the country, like unsolved homicides, mass shootings, sexual assaults, and other violent offenses.

There had been a massive backlog at the FBI Lab for decades. On August 1, 2024, the pending DNA backlog for these samples was over 1.81 million, literally breaking federal statutory requirements. A typical example of institutionalized bureaucracy from prior leadership that left crimes across America unsolved.

When we got here, we changed it. This FBI dedicated more resources, more equipment, improved IT systems, and used business analytics for DNA processing.

TODAY - that DNA backlog is officially at ZERO.

Just more evidence of the monumental and necessary changes made by this FBI. Thank you, FBI Lab Division.

Navy SEAL Senior Chief Mike Day was the first man through the door on a raid against an al-Qaeda cell in Iraq’s Anbar Province on April 6, 2007.

The moment he stepped inside, they opened fire at point-blank range. His rifle was shot out of his hands. He transitioned to his pistol and kept fighting.

A grenade detonated near him, knocking him unconscious and filling him with shrapnel. When he came to, he finished the fight. killing the remaining enemy in the room.

Then he walked himself to the medevac helicopter.

No assistance. Just pure will and training.

For that night he was awarded the Silver Star.

Mike Day survived the unimaginable. He later wrote about resilience in his book Perfectly Wounded. But the invisible wounds of war followed him, and he died by suicide in 2023.

If you had trusted the settled science of the day, here is how it would have gone.

1890s: you dose the baby with Bayer's new cough syrup, the non-addictive alternative to morphine, marketed for children. It was heroin. They named it after the German for heroic.

1900s: you rub calomel teething powder on your infant's gums. It is a mercury compound, and it leaves a generation with pink disease. Swollen, peeling hands and feet, screaming for months, and some of them died.

1910s: you cook in Crisco, launched by a soap and candle company, because cottonseed oil is modern and lard is what your mother used. The process that made it solid produced trans fat, banned outright a century later.

1920s: you drink Radithor, certified radioactive water, on prescription. Eben Byers took fourteen hundred bottles for his vitality. His jaw was removed in pieces and he was buried in a lead coffin.

The oil washed in hexane and built into every cell you own. The statin that blocks the pathway making your hormones, to prevent one heart attack per hundred people. The injection where a third of the loss is muscle. The infant formula built out of vegetable oil.

All settled. None of it funded to be otherwise.
