Kobe Bryant & Kevin Garnett turned the 1998 All-Star Game into a preview of the next era of NBA basketball 😮💨 🍿
The crowd certainly got their money's worth that night at the Garden. Some moments just hit different ♾️
@BenjaminSolak How did Caleb Banks, Blake Cashman, and James Pierre look? Vikes D is gonna be really interesting but the QB room isn't exactly inspiring confidence.
@CanyonDriver CP3 Kobe LeBron C Webb Amare
Healthy Amare running pick and roll with CP3 would have been unstoppable. Kobe/Bron speaks for itself and C Webb as the perfect connector
@mdotbrown If he had just gone back to Cleveland as soon as he left the Lakers everyone would be like yea that makes sense but now he has pinned himself back in a corner and no way to spin this in his favor.
@samesfandiari Even with LeBron and Trey Murphy Warriors still aren't on SAS or OKC's level but that says more about how stacked they are. No realistic moves for any other western team to get to that tier at least on paper
@HPbasketball It's obviously LeBron and Rich Paul on Bill Simmons podcast discussing each perspective team's roster. Suggesting fake trades and free agency signings, opining about what his role would be within each team's offensive system. How he would assimilate into the locker rooms etc
@CanyonDriver@BillMonty_@HoopeFiasco@_OfficialProta Would have been happier with Wade/Oubre over Sexton but still don't think that moves the needle from our place in the tier below the top teams. Bigger criticism to me is Rob putting all his chips in an offseason with so few good free agents and trade candidates available.
@CanyonDriver@BillMonty_@HoopeFiasco@_OfficialProta Agree on the Ayton front. Really wish he could have been trusted to be the backup. He was solid given his contract value and would have been able to hold down the fort when Kessler is injured.
@BillMonty_@CanyonDriver@HoopeFiasco@_OfficialProta What realistic moves could they have made to achieve the roster results you were looking for given the poor quality of the free agent class? I agree that Rob didn't make the best moves but what path did they have to catching OKC/San Antonio in roster talent?
@jaycaspiankang He has a chance to be the best UNC player since Mike. Sheed/Vince level seems like a decent outcome but his upside is higher than both.
@DragonflyJonez Movies went crazy that year, Independence Day, Heat, The Rock, Jerry Maguire, Mission Impossible. Might have to throw Tom Cruise, and Cuba Gooding Jr up in that bracket.
@DOC323123 Regardless of the future picks which are obviously worth a lot to them in the long run, they could have had Kessler to help Keyonte/Darryn grow, get some playoff experience for a young core. Yet they face no media pressure to try to win now cause it's Utah
