After three years as an assistant coach with @brisbanelions Mark Stone is heading back to WA.
Stone, one of the @AFL most experienced and respected assistants is keen to continue in football back in his home state.
Stone joins Jed Adcock to leave after the Grand Final. 🦁
Paperwork lodged.
The Brisbane Lions have made an offer to Restricted Free Agent Tom Doedee (Adelaide Crows). The Adelaide Crows are now in the three-day period where the club can decide whether to match the offer or not. The three-day period ends 10am AEDT, Thursday October 12.
"We are hoping mid year he will be available. He will come over and do his rehab, our doctors think around Round 15-16 or so."
- Tom Doedee's recovery for Brisbane
"We have had some good chats with him this week. Our expectation is that he will go on. He knows there may be some challenges next year, but he played some great footy in the back half of the year."
- Danny Daly on Dayne Zorko
"We will touch base with him over the next 24 hours and see where he is at, and what he wants to do. He may want to look around, because he hasn't played much footy recently."
- Danny Daly on Rhys Matheson
"We won't be too busy this period, we will try and get some points together to bring in Levi (Ashcroft) next year."
- Danny Daly on the Lions movements this trade period
Brisbane Lions ruck/forward Tom Fullarton will seek a trade to Melbourne. The 24-year-old didn’t play a senior game this year, with 19 appearances across his career at the Lions. Dees looking to build up their ruck stocks. More on @AFLcomau.
@time_millar Yeah I think next year is probably Zorks’ last, will then open the door for someone like Kai to properly develop.
Gunston has one year to go on his contract if I remember correctly?
@aerobicspinach@LUSEFER12@RyanDSears The principle is the same. Why don’t MCG tenants win it every year then? If you’re going to throw stupid comments out surely you understand some logic.
And I’m a Victorian mate, lived here my whole life. But again set your uninformed comments free because you know best! 🫡
At quarter-time of the AFL Grand Final on Saturday, the MCG decided to play "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver.
And Eddie was not happy about it at all!
New Eddie and Jimmy episode out now!

@time_millar Has to! If we had of won the flag maybe he leaves it there, but we’ve got unfinished business. And tbh I think he’s still got a key role to play with his pressure and ball use
@RyanDSears 100%, we’ve been stooged with the lack of MCG games for years. Don’t think you’ll find a Lions person who didn’t want us to have an extra run on the G.
Does that not highlight the advantage even more to you?
@Haydenseivers1 Easter Thursday v Pies is our locked in Gabba game, that’s not changing. You can’t be thick enough to think the Lions went to the AFL and asked not to play at the G? We’ve been crying out for more games there after years of being shipped off to Tassie, Ballarat and anywhere else
@RyanDSears The point is that they could’ve finished 8th and they still wouldve had the home ground advantage - they’ll ALWAYS have it regardless of who finishes where. But he has the nerve to sook about a fan voted song? Nah
