I just think it’s funny that ACGME asks whether “my program has instructed me on how to minimize the effects of sleep deprivation on patient care” rather than asking if I have been compelled to work so many hours that sleep deprivation has impacted patient care or my own wellness
@RammahaSahar Ours not only have to be MDs but are also required to be either current faculty at our university or alumni of the medical school. No exceptions 🙃
Talked to our deans about it and was told to kick rocks
It wasn't until I was an intern that I truly understood the pointlessness and cruelty of Step 3. Making interns, who already work the longest hours in the hospital, use precious free time to study for a THIRD board exam does nothing but burn out residents and enrich the NBME.
was out w my non-med friend who was talking abt owning a home and possibly renting it out while buying another one meanwhile i’ve had a $15 set of pens in my cart for months, am bullied by nurses daily, and have 5 days off a month but tell me more abt how being a dr is worth it
med students are like “you can remember that bone marrow is stimulated by interleukin-3 because BONE = 4 letters = fourth letter of alphabet is D = Durham, North Carolina is where my friend Matt lives = Matt threw up in my car 3 times in college = interleukin-3”
