@ryangerritsen Probably a dozen selected investors will be chosen to make a paltry investment and be rewarded indefinitely as the money the nonprofit previously returned to maintenance and improvements will cease as “shareholders” will always want the cream at the top. Derelict airports result
@ronmortgageguy Absolutely nothing. The revenue generated in rent is gone forever. But on the flip side probably a dozen “investors” can make a paltry investment (they will be pre selected) and reap the dividends of this farce.
@ronmortgageguy That was used for expansion and upkeep will go into “investors” pockets. The airport will go downhill. The one time capital will be swindled and enjoy your future derelict facility. The ownership of the dirt will be reduced to any crown land ownership and mean….
@VanIsleStuartD@ronmortgageguy Oh here comes the insults.
How can you not do basic arithmetic. One time lump sum to gov and then straight off to a foreign country and then some Krookfield company gets a contract WHILE TAXPAYERS GET NOTHING. Was that so hard for you.
@FidelisLobo@ronmortgageguy NO. The airports are run by nonprofits and they have invested and made the airports bigger and better they pay outrageous amounts of rent to the feds. The feds have done nothing but collect heaps of money. This is to get that money out of taxpayer coffers and into private hands
@KaranKang017@ronmortgageguy@DmcleodDonald The system now works, the not for profits pay outrageous rents. But if privatized it could make money for just a few. Then you will see how shitty the airports can get.
@ronmortgageguy Stakeholder capitalism
It’s theft and it’s the end of this fake country. The shareholders will profit from doing nothing. The people will have nothing that is “theirs” despite having paid for it many times over.
@laxbird@BenRabidoux The airports pay huge sums of rent to the gov. That’s a huge loss to citizens so some shareholders can reap ownership they don’t deserve. This is no country it’s the shell of one.
