Among those supporting the campaign is Rosamund Adoo-Kissi-Debrah who nine-year-old daughter Ella became the first person in the UK to have air pollution recorded as a cause of death on her death certificate.
In 1783, Belinda Sutton petitioned Massachusetts for an allowance from the estate of the man who enslaved her. She secured an annual pension, but repeatedly had to petition for payment.

We must not forget Diane Abbott: she was effectively made an example of, and now all the Black Labour MPs are staying silent instead of speaking out. This is divisive from the party, prioritising 1 form of racial trauma over others. Hierarchies of racism are themselves racist.
Forget Diane Abbott. The Labour Party commissioned the Forde report to look into the internal party culture and processes, and it concluded that the party had a hierarchy of racism where anti-Black racism, Islamophobia, and sexism were not taken as seriously as antisemitism.
Pleased to speak at the launch of the wonderful Zita Holbourne’s inspirational autobiography “Zita. A Life of Activism.” The book tells the story of the role Zita has played in struggles for equality and justice over decades and how as an artist and poet she has brought her talent to play in a multitude of trade union, equality and community campaigns.
“You can kill a revolutionary but you can’t kill revolution.” — Fred Hampton
His 1969 speech also said: “You can jail a revolutionary, but you can’t jail the revolution.”

I am NOT a Descendant of the Windrush!
The SS EMPIRE Windrush is a 🇬🇧 coloniser ship.
My Elders & Ancestors are not define by this 🇬🇧 Coloniser ship.
I am a Descendant of Afrikans enslaved in the Caribbean; & brought to 🇬🇧 under colonial domination.
Prof. Gus John breaks down how the manufactured Windrush identity and Popular narrative are tools of the 🇬🇧 State design to subdue Afrikan-Caribbean people & ensure we are enticed in to allegiance & celebration of 🇬🇧; rather than resistance to 🇬🇧 and it's continued (neo)colonial exploits.
May we heed... Ase 🙏🏿🖤

17 October 1961. Paris. Algerians protested a discriminatory curfew. French police responded with brutal repression. Thousands were arrested and dozens killed. Remember the victims of colonial violence.
Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms are feeding people and keeping communities alive through war.
They deserve more attention than the generals destroying their country.
Afrikan solidarity means supporting the people organising survival.
REPARATIONS NOW! ✊🏿
Britain compensated the enslavers. The descendants of the enslaved are still demanding justice.
Wednesday 21 October, 3pm. Assemble outside HM Treasury, London.
Reparations are not charity. They are a demand for historical justice.

Labour is threatening local power-sharing arrangements over the Greens' Zionism motion.
Antisemitism must be confronted. So must Palestinian dispossession.
The left should be capable of both without turning local democracy into a loyalty test.
