Man it’s ironic that Quik Stop was one of the hardest tracks in Cole’s album, cus you can feel the frustration in his tone talking about the constraints of expectations and how the pressure affects his craft.
We underestimate the power of building systems when learning.
Instead of being goal-oriented we should be system-oriented as this ensures consistency.
Learning without a system leaves us disorganized and eventually burnt out, because we tend to tie our sense of accomplishment to the outcome (the goal), and it usually takes long before we start noticing any significant improvement. This breeds self doubt.
However, when we list those little steps we need to take and set specific settings on where, when, how long, and the technique we use to learn, we make gradual but consistent improvements.
Trust the Process:)
One night I had a really bad headache and these thoughts of death started creeping into my mind. I self reflected and realized I wasn’t necessarily scared of dying as it’s inevitable and out of my control.
What I was really scared of was that I didn’t even make an attempt to live healthy, the fact that I didn’t do the bare minimum that reduced my probability of dying.
I stayed up that whole night constantly thinking “Now I have to face the consequence of my inaction”.
That feeling of regret I had that night has been my fuel to improve my physical, mental and spiritual health.
It’s really just about your energy levels after an interaction with a person.
If you usually feel good or renewed after an interaction with someone, that’s the kind of person you should cherish.
However, if you usually feel a lethargy to interact with or you end up feeling drained of your energy after speaking to someone, do not hesitate to distance yourself from them.
