@bradwellcommon We should also add the independent reviewer also concluded the the warehouse was a poor development, the recommendation to committee was wrong and the report had numerous issues
@bradwellcommon She has claimed she was coerced and pressured to recommend something against her judgement. We have been contacted by other former MK Council planners who alleged the same thing and even gave us examples
@bradwellcommon We should add that the original case senior officer recommended refusal on grounds of visual impact. This was supported by his development manager
The replacement case officer also wanted to recommend refusal for the same reason but claims she was coerced to recommend approval
@bradwellcommon Noise and visual impact
We now know MK Council's expert on visual impact objected to the application but this was never reported to the committee
@bradwellcommon The noise assessment and recent appeal have concluded the impact will be significant and adverse on us. This alone would have been a strong ground to refuse the application
@APCRMC@Ben_Everitt@mkcouncil Yes
1) He wrote to @RobertJenrick for us and raised the issues
2) He has met with @MichaelRBracey
3) He wrote a letter of support in the recent planning appeal which was decided in our favour
4) He has been to Blakelands to meet with us and discuss the issues
@APCRMC@Ben_Everitt Because @mkcouncil appointed him, they managed him, and they stuck by him when we presented a petition of no confidence signed by 600 people last year
They allowed this unacceptable situation to happen when it was quite obvious he was never going to deliver a report
It is frustrating that after all these years of denials from the management at @mkcouncil, it takes a Planning Inspector to confirm what we have been saying all along
@MKLibDems@MKLabourParty Words not backed up by actions. It is a shame you continually put your politics before the residents and our search for the truth over the Blakelands warehouse
We will keep pushing for the truth and we will continue to expose those who have tried to block us along the way
An eyesore that two @mkcouncil planning officers wanted to deny permission to build - but were overruled - has become a white elephant that no one wants to occupy. Latest on the Blakelands warehouse saga from Craig here:
It is obvious to us that the warehouse should never have been approved or built. It serves no purpose as it cannot be leased and it brings no economic value to MK
It would be like approving and building 100s of homes but with a condition that prevents anyone from living there
@KerrieCherie@MKLibDems You should ask Cllr Carr about the reception she received when she delivered the dreadful letter from Mr Bracey and the offer of ยฃ600 compensation. A large number of those offered it have rejected it!
@KerrieCherie@MKLibDems A simple fact then. None of our Cllrs turned up at the virtual hearing to support us and speak to the inspector. The only thing submitted in writing was a one line email that they support the residents
Even this, with the election around the corner, came as a surprise to us
@KerrieCherie@MKLibDems The appeal outcome is good but it still leaves behind a monumental mess. We have a warehouse that is visually harmful and it impacts our amenity. The developer has a warehouse that it is unable to lease. This shows that it should never have been given permission and built
@KerrieCherie@MKLibDems Our Cllrs have been more supportive of Cllr Marland than they have been of our search for the truth. They have forgotten who they represent and who votes for them. We know a lot about what has been going on behind the scenes and the deals that were done
@KerrieCherie@MKLibDems Support is an interesting word. Our Cllrs were absent for 2+ years. They took Blakelands for granted. Once planning permission was granted, we never saw or heard from them. We were left battling the mess left by MK Council with support from Cllrs from areas
