@sasforums Don't forget the reason for analytics is to achieve value for your business. Over-rotating on the means to the end is wasteful. Focus on what makes your problem-owners become problem-solvers with the least amount of technology & people in process -- that's just friction #saschat
@sasforums A4: Exchanging an on-prem CapEx cost profile for a cloud OpEx cost profile means "#innovation" has a unit cost. The cost-burden is shifting from IT/Finance/Procurement to Engineers themselves. An engineer must now be concerned about cost-of-code, not just innovation #saschat
@sasforums A3: The best persona to solve problems which generate value in the shortest amount of time... is the person who owns the problem. Every other technology/persona is a cost or delay in value. No/low code enables personas to solve their problems, improving uniteconomics #saschat
@sasforums A1: A2: Both questions into one. The analytics platform must be cost-performant & optimized against the value it provides. When you pay by the minute in the cloud, you need to get the most value for every operating minute. Time-to-value is the goal. Speed is essential #saschat
Cloud-native-first: which according to Forrester 40% are doing anyway. Distributed computation. Code “agnostic.” ACTION: “Cloud leaders should accelerate the shift to containers and Kubernetes.” #SASchat#analytics
@sasforums Hello universe -- I am Blake Sheldon, a Senior Manager for Cloud Economics at SAS. I'm also a FinOps member and I spend my time researching & quantify the cost of analytics in the cloud #saschat#analytics
@MFaccenda@angieblum@bid_company Milo, I think you're on to something. A recent customer's engagement survey's least favorable question was around being compensated fairly. When we conducted segmentation analysis, that question, even though "low", was not a significant driver of any of the 5 segments!
A5: Looking forward to discussing this topic next week. Text analytics plays a huge role in creating data for jobs & employees alike. Then integrate this data with your forecasts to identify which people address gaps and which need skilling up #peopleanalytics#saschat
A3: The impending skills gap will require organizations to think differently about the talent they already have. Addressing increased talent competition by creating fulfilling careers internally - to do more with what you have - will be paramount #saschat
A2: This is a passion topic of mine. We're doing some great work internally here at SAS that uses segmentation analysis on engagement survey results, then predicts the drivers of each segment. This provides the evidence management needs to buy in #peopleanalytics#saschat
A1: So many options with analytics. I think the first challenge is HR being able to access the data they need to make smarter decisions. Korn Ferry's CEO said last week that it will be more about candidate "fit" than anything else. Analytics can help determine "fit" #saschat
Hello Twitterverse and fellow colleagues in #peopleanalytics. I am former HR consultant who moved into SAS' HR department before marrying SAS' analytics to solve HR's challenges with our customers. Look forward to talking today! #saschat
