In 2008, 18-year-old Queena Phu drove to a Florida library after dark to return a book.

She was on the phone with a friend. Then the screaming started. The call cut off.

16-year-old Kendrick Morris dragged her behind the building, raped her, and beat her until her brain was so damaged she would never see, walk, or speak again. He left her in the dirt like she was already dead.
She wasn’t.

When police ran the DNA, they found he had already raped a 62-year-old daycare worker at knifepoint months earlier.

In 2011 he was convicted of both attacks and sentenced to 65 years. Because he was a juvenile, the Supreme Court later gave him a second chance in court.

In 2017 he came back asking for less time.

The judge looked at what he did to Queena — and gave him three consecutive life sentences instead.
18 years later, Queena still needs round-the-clock care.

He is still asking the system for mercy.
She never got a resentencing. He did.

網友早上出門倒垃圾，意外救回了一條小命。當時，一隻小狗被緊緊綑在蛇皮袋裡，繩結死死繫著，小狗在大型垃圾桶裡不停哀嚎。

那是社區裡的一名老人，親手將袋子扔進大型垃圾桶的。如果不是網友及時發現、果斷救援，這隻小狗現在恐怕已經上了垃圾車，最終在焚化爐裡和垃圾一同化為灰燼。

這起事件，再次血淋淋地揭露了中國缺乏《動物保護法》的嚴峻現狀。在現行法規下，寵物僅被視為飼主的「個人財產」，任憑隨意處置——哪怕是像這樣塞進袋子扔掉，讓牠們如同垃圾一樣被燒成灰���。

但牠們是活生生的生命，不是一袋垃圾，更不該遭受這種對待。尊重生命，不需要把牠們當成神；但至少，請先把自己當作人。

地點：寧九高速安徽銅陵市樅陽收費站（九江方向）。
車牌：皖 LF91218。

動物保護人士舉報了一輛非法狗肉車，車上滿載遭盜捕的家養寵物狗。目前狗肉車已被當地農業局攔截，但是車上鐵籠極其狹小，狗狗層層堆疊，已出現嚴重擠壓、呼吸急促與極度脫水，隨時可能窒息死亡！

根據《動物防疫法》，執法必須保障動物基本生存！

我們嚴正訴求：
(1)即刻卸車：停止擠壓，給予狗狗呼吸和喝水的空間。

LAMENTABLE: PERRITO DE EDAD AVANZADA HABRÍA SIDO ABANDONADO EN CANCÚN

Un ciudadano reportó en redes sociales el momento en que un perrito de edad avanzada aparentemente fue abandonado a su suerte en Cancún, en la zona de la glorieta de Plaza Las Américas, sobre la avenida Tulum.

Según lo compartido, el peludo permanece acostado, triste y desorientado, como si todavía esperara que alguien regresara por él.

Se desconoce qué ocurrió realmente, aunque algunos usuarios sospechan que su edad pudo haber influido en que terminara solo en medio del ruido, el tráfico y el caos de la ciudad.

Lo más doloroso es imaginar que, después de años de compañía y lealtad, un animal pueda terminar sin entender por qué la persona a la que siguió durante tanto tiempo simplemente dejó de volver.
