Pushing the boundaries of melt electrowriting by developing novel scaffolds and feedback-driven software
@fisch_philipp@ISBioFab As with all new apps we expect some teething issues, but we are committed to providing regular updates and taking onboard feedback from users. Also, by releasing the source code we encourage users to create their own modifications or suggest new updates! 👍
Excited to share Melt ElectroCoder! This open-source software streamlines g-code generation for #MEW scaffold fabrication, making complex designs more accessible. Dive into advanced features for customisation and optimisation.

@fisch_philipp@ISBioFab Thanks Philipp! Absolutely, there is still much to do and certainly limitations to address. Incorporating more designs, refining the interface and ensuring a smooth workflow are priorities for us 😊
@lucia_g_brunel@ISBioFab Hi Lucia 👋 For a new material, printing box-structures, or straight lines, are a great way to go as you establish the printing parameters that work for your material and printer! Pressure, voltage and print speed can affect print quality, so I would optimise these first 😊
.@Dale_G_Neville & I are exploring in-SEM mechanical testing of microfiber #MEW scaffolds to investigate the influence of tissue maturity on scaffold mechanics. Here we present our validation data and pilot experiments with @BLeeDevlin's scaffolds.

@NaomiCPaxton@ISBioFab Thanks Naomi🌸For highly elastic tissue applications, I recommend sinusoidal or auxetic designs - our app also facilitates the creation of scaffolds with anisotropic properties, which enables directional mechanical characteristics that may enhance tissue-specific performance!
Exciting news! Our paper on enhancing infection resistance through vancomycin-embedded #MEW scaffolds is now featured in the 2024 Polymer Portfolio collection. A big shoutout to the entire team for their hard work and dedication! 🎉

Congratulations to Naomi and Brenna for winning the Best Early Career Researcher #ECR and Higher Degree Researcher #HDR Presentation Awards at the @ASBTE1#QLD Regional Showcase! 🏆 The competition showcased Queensland's top-tier researchers, making it a truly remarkable event 👏
Honoured to win the Best #HDR Presentation Award at the @ASBTE1#QLD Regional Showcase 2023. I am very grateful for my wonderful colleagues and collaborators and the opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to the scientific community 🙏 @QUT#biomedical#science#research
Excited for the @ASBTE1 Australasian Society for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering #QLD Regional Showcase this Friday! Two of our #superstar researchers will be showcasing their incredible work on #biomimetic auricular implants and #advanced techniques in #meltelectrowriting🥳
The #MEWron family grows with a (heated!) cylindrical collector that, when combined with filament delivery, processes nylon-12 into porous sheets/tubes. Built on the fabulous @Voron_Design, we show how high melting point polymers can be MEW-processed. https://t.co/MCcPNCRNRp
