The odd logic of much homework. If it can be done independently--why am I required to do it? If it can't be done independently who is there to teach me to do it?
Schools spend so much time talking about tier 2 & tier 3 interventions. The things we do for some kids, sometimes.
We can nullify the need for so many of these conversations if we’d just dial in to great tier 1 instruction. What are we doing for all kids, all the time? #edchat

scarier when you avoid scary things,
more painful when you avoid painful things,
more confusing when you avoid confusing things,
more uncomfortable when you avoid uncomfortable things."

#ThoughtForTheDay In our effort to dodge difficult convos, our avoidance may actually condone & even accommodate bad behavior. Being a champion for others means interrupting that pattern of avoidance in order to help them become a better version of themselves. #HandleWithCareEDU
First is Savannah Lentz, ATC! Savannah comes to us from Cresco, Iowa. She became an athletic trainer because of her own experience as a collegiate athlete and wanting to be the person her athletes could turn to. Thank you Savannah for all that you do for SSU Athletics! #HailSSU
#ThoughtForTheDay Almost every school has an established set of beliefs & values statements that they have agreed to live by. However, what is missing are the agreed upon protocols of how to address staff who are not following those statements. #LiveYourExcellence
Mary was also a long-time and valuable member of the Decorah athletic department, and the signs are in the Vikings’ school colors to honor her service there. The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Cubs honor her contributions to student-athletes from all over Iowa.
