🚨Activist groups like Queer Bozeman and Forward Montana are planning to flood the July 8th City Commission meeting with public comment in support of adopting the “pride” flag as an official city flag, even though the proposal was removed from the City Commission’s six-month calendar earlier last week.

💰They are mobilizing supporters to pressure the Commission into revisiting this decision - even though it’s not formally listed as an action item at the meeting.

🫡We need to show up in equal numbers to remind the Commission that Bozeman’s government must remain neutral, representative of all residents, and focused on essential services like infrastructure and public safety.

🙄This isn’t about being for or against any group as their rhetoric tries to suggest. It is about ensuring our local government doesn’t pick sides in social or political debates by adopting symbolic flags or ideologies. Bozeman’s official symbols should unite, not further divide.

This opportunity usually comes at the beginning of the meeting, after the Pledge of Allegiance and approval of the consent agenda. It is typically introduced as “public comment on non-agenda items falling within the purview and jurisdiction of the Commission.” You will have three minutes to deliver your comments.
