Black Children Deserve Better

We are heartbroken, angry, and extremely sad about the shooting and death of 4 year old Taliyah, a Black girl from Nashville. On Tuesday evening Taliyah was shot in East Nashville and succumbed to gunshot wounds on Wednesday afternoon.

It is time for our city to invest in public safety that allows our children – Black children like Taliyah, to grow up and live in safe and healthy communities.
