Last Saturday's tree mapping project kick off event with UCD included an info session on the project and a trip to Sundrive Park to learn how to identify the trees 🌳
🌳Dublin 12 environmental group @BloominCrumlin and @UCD_Geography have announced the launch of the community engagement phase of INTERVAL.
This award-winning project @scienceirel brings local volunteers and residents together to actively participate in enhancing their environment, and aims to map all the trees in Crumlin.
On 13 July, UCD researchers and community members will join forces to begin the community-led data-gathering process. Families will have the opportunity to learn how to map and gather data on existing trees using state of the art mapping platforms, drones, AI, and remote sensing.

Last weekend, @crumlinunited and @CrumlinGAA helped our Pearse Park Community Garden crew out with planting native trees and fruit trees in Pearse Park🌲
Over the weekend, volunteers cleared out rubbish & removed the old damaged plastic from our new community poly tunnel. It's now ready for the planting season to support the planters in the area, the community garden and more 🍓🌷
To mark #TreeWeek2024, sign & share our open letter calling for @agriculture_ie to act on the danger of Fireblight to Ireland's hedgerows. This disease is carried on imported trees and infects Hawthorn, which must then be destroyed as there is no cure.
