On the surface, this sounds like Israel weaning itself off American money.

But read it again. Aid is a line item Congress can cut with a vote.

What replaces it is structural integration: shared weapons development, joint production lines, intertwined AI and cyber programs, mutual investment in each other's defense industries.

You can end aid with a pen.

You cannot easily separate two defense industrial bases that build their next-generation platforms together.

After a war where a lot Americans said the U.S. fought for Israel's interests, the political vulnerability was always the aid line.

Netanyahu's answer is to delete the line item and replace it with something deeper that never shows up as a check Congress has to approve.

The relationship that critics spent this war trying to loosen is being rewired into something far harder to unwind.

After this, Pakistan just became the No.1 country many Japanese people want out of Japan.

This happened in Japan:
In Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, an Islamic prayer facility — a mosque — was built without permission in an urbanization control area.

The city says this violates the City Planning Act and has demanded that it be removed.

The issue came to light in October 2024, after local residents reported it. The city confirmed that a building had been nearly completed without authorization. Officials posted a notice ordering construction to stop, but the foreign workers at the site reportedly said they did not understand Japanese, and construction did not stop.

Later, in March 2025, a company registered at the mosque’s address became the landowner. When Kawagoe City demanded removal, the company submitted a correction plan in March 2026, saying it would remove the structure within five years.

And then, the very next month — on April 3, 2026 — an opening ceremony was held at that same mosque.

The Pakistani Ambassador to Japan attended.

The Pakistani Embassy later explained on X that the ambassador had accepted the invitation after being told that all necessary permits had been obtained.

They then called on Pakistanis living in Japan to obey Japanese law and cooperate with Japanese authorities. The statement was issued not only in Japanese, but also in Urdu.

Kawagoe City says the building cannot be used for gatherings and that it wants the structure removed as soon as possible. However, at this stage, the city has not moved toward administrative execution or legal action, and is currently watching how the situation develops.

So the core issue is this:

A mosque suspected of being built without permission was ordered to be removed by the city.

The landowner submitted a plan to remove it.

And yet, the very next month, an opening ceremony was held there — with the Pakistani Ambassador in attendance.

The Embassy says they were told it had been approved.

But for many Japanese people, that explanation is not enough.

This is not about religion.

This is about whether Japanese law means anything inside Japan.
