It is so encouraging to have a period of 18 months of GP referrals and then tests, some scheduled on a weekend , and most within 14 days.
Today’s @NHS is so much more positive.
No wonder waiting lists are coming down
Engagement vs arguments
This is better, progressive
@Peston Vote Reform - get rid of Burnham, Rayner, Streeting, and leave Starmer in the bunker. Reform have amended their local election tag line for the bi- election and labour will pay dearly .
@Peston If less than half the labour faithful voters in Makerfield don’t vote in support of Starmer, Reform get in the back door, Burnham is then toast and the other pretenders will be pissing in the wind come their challenge
@BethRigby@IzzyLosseff@tsueyek The three years that Reform get in “power” will define the 2029 election. On their current form, the FPTP duopoly will probably remain.
@BethRigby@IzzyLosseff@tsueyek FPTP will be hitting a breaking point for 2029. With a 5-way split, the system becomes a "seat lottery"- Reform UK could surge if they concentrate their current 25% vote share, but strategic voting and a "cordon sanitaire" from other parties could still leave them sidelined.
@IainDale@donmcgowan@LBC For a commentator and would be politician you are so out of touch. Why would you champion the spending of millions on elections that will be rerun 12 months later.
Positive is reform will have 12 months to cost their constituents further millions.
Allowing the local elections was not just legal advice, it was a masterstroke.
Let them eat cake - when Reform Plc take over these areas, all the bread will be gone and all the constituents will have left is higher bills and flags.
@Peston Dear Prime Minister,
Trump has effectively opened the door back into Europe. We need each other more than ever and rejoining will nullify any tariffs the President cares to force upon us - will you grasp the opportunity?
Yours

@hoffman_noa@adamboultonTABB Wealthier (affluent) borrowers generally pay much lower effective interest rates than poorer borrowers, 0% balance transfer deals exist to keep middle England spending. The difference can easily be 10–30 percentage points or more.
Is that fair?
@hoffman_noa@adamboultonTABB The take from an excellent budget is the discussion around procedural errors and missteps rather than the obvious rabbit with big headroom providing the staircase for working people to grab the carrot and for the gated evaders to pay their debt at 0 %

@afneil The only people that don’t like this budget are people that can afford it and ideological clap trap that tries to infer everyone is going to have 10 kids!
Let’s hope they do as we need these kids to pay my pension, if not yours sir.
@afneil The State now has a (bigger)buffer, probably a sustainable buffer. Kids will be taken out of poverty. No taxes have been increased for the majority of the population. Everyone will have a choice whether to accept pay increases that take them into a higher tax band.
@RoryStewartUK The current opposition contain the remnants of that administration and must not be taken seriously, hopefully washed away in an era of 5 Party politics
@RoryStewartUK The Covid Inquiry has laid bare a government defined by chaos, evasion and a collapse of basic standards. In my view, the Conservative administration will go down in history as one of the UK’s worst — a failure of competence, integrity and morality.
