@Kay2_Kelly_ @Mick_Mcgonigle A winter tillage crop sown in the field beside it suggests it's fertile, free draining land which would be typical of Carlow. Roof space around the country should be utilised for solar panels - not prime agricultural land! I wouldn't even construct them on marginal land. Farcical

@EPPGroup Unlocking €45 billion isn't actually correct though is it, Sèan? It's just the commission reinstating 11% of the original CAP budget for the 2028 - 2034 period to assist beef and poultry farmers with "disproportionate burdens" caused by Mercosur IF it is voted through by EP...

@Camposte1 @pcanfin You mean European farming interests and the health of every European citizen? Nothing influence's our day to day health more than the food that we consume, which will continue to be jeopardised as long as Mercosur beef riddled with carcinogenic hormones is circulating in the EU.

The latest EPA report on wastewater treatment found that raw sewage from around 20,000 people in 15 localities was entering waterways every day. Imagine what the consequences for 15 farmers would be, if the slurry from their 20,000 cows was flowing directly into a nearby river...

The latest report from the EPA states 59% of Ireland’s wastewater treatment plants are failing to meet the treatment standards necessary to prevent pollution and protect the environment. But "Oh, it's the farmers!"
