On October 7, the 10th #StPetersburg International Gas Forum held the ceremonial finish of the Blue Corridor – Gas into Engines 2021 #NGV Rally 🚗⛽️

A highly topical business program has become an important element of the Rally. Leading Russian NGV automakers hosted its events. Among them are Urals Automotive Plant, @KAMAZ_official and Raritek Group, @group_gaz, as well as #Volgabus 🚍🚐🚌

Dr Timm Kehler of @zukunft_gas stressed that we need major redesign ofCO2-regulation in transport🚛,cos current regulation system has not delivered results,reaching 2030-targets with it seems impossible.Biomethane🌿needs to be included as an option towards fleet target regulation

Deputy Head @Gazprom_GMT Sergey Colin shared that there are 508 #NGV infrastructure facilities currently operating in🇷🇺, of which 339 are owned by the Gazprom Group. More than 30 facilities were commissioned in 2020 and 95 new facilities are planned to be commissioned in 2021.

Evangelos Doulgeridis, Customer Portfolio Manager @PrometheusGas stressed that however total #NGV fleet in🇬🇷 is ~10000, but with appropriate support #CNG #LNG as motor fuel can be more affordable interim solution for achieving 2030 CO2 emissions targets than using elecrtic cars

Friedrich Lesche, head of Public Affairs/Alternative Propulsion of @IVECO Magirus AG, said that #NaturalGas is the best immediately available low-emission alternative to diesel in the heavy segment.

Secretary General @NGVAEurope Jens Andersen shared with the participants some economic advantages of using #LNG and #CNG as a motor fuel in Europe. Besides, he paid special attention to the role of methane and bio methane fuels in a reduction of the cost of transportation.

The round table ended with closing remarks by Jean-Claude Girot, President of @AFGNV, who stressed once again that gas is a rational solution for transport sector 🚌🚘
