I’m honestly at a loss for words for what Sony and Microsoft are doing to the video game industry right now. Xbox is gearing up for record layoffs and studio closures and PlayStation is taking a huge step to completely kill physical media.
This feels like a great time to remind everyone that Steam is way more consumer friendly and GOG lets you own your game files DRM-free and with no required internet connection.
Sad times.

Quentin Tarantino says 'There Will Be Blood' would've had a chance to be his greatest film of the 21st century if it didn't have Paul Dano in it
"it’s supposed to be a two-hander, but ... [Dano] is weak sauce, man ... He’s just such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy. The weakest fucking actor in SAG [laughs]"
@NextGenPlayer I mean, it makes sense, exclusives are the only things consoles have left at this point. Which will be extra true if something like the Steam Machine is priced competitively
Activision is banking on casual gamers being okay with this, and if the money the last few games have generated says anything, this is only going to get worse
Activision's statement on their AI usage in 'Call of Duty'
"We use a variety of digital tools, including AI tools, to empower and support our teams to create the best gaming experiences possible for our players. Our creative process continues to be led by the talented individuals in our studios"
Well, when exclusives are the only thing keeping consoles relevant at this point, maybe porting them to other platforms wasn't such a good idea for competition?
Sony podría dejar de lanzar juegos single-player para PC, según Jez Corden.
"He oído de una fuente muy fiable que PlayStation probablemente se esté retirando del mercado de PC para sus juegos estrella para un jugador".

Here's a look at the 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 7' campaign
• Online-only campaign — cant be paused even if you're playing solo
• Solo players dont get any AI teammates
• If you quit or are idle for too long, it forces you to restart the entire mission
@MinModulation Gabe said it best in that Piracy is a service issue and not a price one. Of course, people are going to pirate, but seeing as how convenient (and many times cheap) Steam is. It's significantly easier to use than pirating and going through that hassle.
