@FarhanAbdullahA Even though Kenan scored 7 goals in 21/22 season, he is neither a striker nor a good finisher. Since joining Mechal in 22/23, he has struggled to find his form, scoring just 1 in 10 starts. In his new role, he performed well in the friendlies, but Wubetu must play Amanuel as a 9.
#ALG became the first country to reach the quarterfinals after defeating #Eth 1-0. The Walias were dominant in possession but underwhelming in attack as they played without a recognized striker. #Eth has to win their last game of the group against #LIB in order to qualify.

Ethiopia is one of the few African countries whose main national team is majorly composed of local based players. Ethiopia has qualified for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) only twice; in 2014 and 2016. On both occasions, they have bowed out winless in the group stages.
Ethiopia have been drawn in group A with hosts Algeria, Libya and Mozambique. The Walias last qualified for the CHAN in 2016 and missed out on the last two editions. Wubetu hopes to build on 2021 AFCON, that the lessons learned in Cameroon will propel his team in this tournament.

The construction of the stadium began in late 2009 by MIDROC, and the stadium received recognition from CAF in 2015.
