@jasonaquest Castle's whole miserable existence is his comeuppance - have you read the end of Punisher MAX? I think you're overstretching - for me he's just a comic-book character - you're the one trying to argue that he's a real-life bogeyman.Your insinuations about strangers..are troubling.
@Gabrielelm22 @t_cutlet @MitchGerads I think the best thing would be to keep Frank in the 616 universe rather than MAX for now. Have him squaring off against Baron Zemo or Taskmaster, like in the recent Matthew Rosenberg run. It was good storytelling & true to character without anything that could be misinterpreted.
@MCU_Fanatics Absolutely not, these idiots don't even read the comic and those criticizing The Punisher don't understand what the books are about. People will always steal symbols, dont give in to them. Banning art and culture is wrong.
@DDicelove @san_ryuken@mikeavila@SYFY Do you honestly think they wouldn't have done what they did if The Punisher didn't exist or if they weren't wearing a skull t-shirt? They probably don't even read the comic.
@jasonaquest Well 'put out to pasture' would imply that. He's killing fictional people, who have done things really evil.I enjoy it because it's fiction & bad guys are getting come-uppance. Why do people like horror movies, do you look on them with disdain? You sound like Mary Whitehouse.
@NerdKing102 I'd be more concerned if art and culture start being banned. Marvel and Punisher didn't influence people to do this, Donald Trump and alt-right groups did.
@DDicelove @san_ryuken@mikeavila@SYFY It doesn't represent racist hatred - The Punisher comics have nothing to do with that. You're talking about some morons who have missed the point. Sure sue them for usage but the comics are fine entertainment as they are and readers shouldn't have to suffer - it's overkill.
@richjohnston The people using his logo and the people complaining about it never read the comics anyway. Only those of us that read the comics suffer from a needless censorship of art.
@DDicelove @san_ryuken@mikeavila@SYFY People have misunderstood the symbol, doesn't mean the character or logo should be banned. I wouldn't want to see Pepe The Frog taken away from his original Boys Club comics either.
@JAMALIGLE@ToddCMatthy@CTropes@Marvel I agree that banning art is not the answer and is, if anything, more sinister. It's patronising at the very least to decide that for people who choose not to be involved in the madness of recent years and just enjoy entertainment.
@CTropes@Marvel Why should a comic many people enjoy be banned because idiots wore a logo? Do we ban Catcher in the Rye because of Chapman? Or The Joker because of the Aurora Shooting?
@JAMALIGLE@Marvel He may have been corrupted but I don't think that's the fault of the character or reason to be banned. He's been misinterpreted by others, Frank doesn't actually have time for politics at all. I'm left-wing but enjoy the character. We wouldn't ban The Catcher In The Rye would we?
