Iranian authorities arrest five suspects in brutal killing of religious singer by anti-government monarchists

Iranian police have arrested five suspects, including a female social media influencer, in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Basij member and religious singer Hamidreza Rajabzadeh.

According to Iranian authorities, the perpetrators confessed to the crime, during which Rajabzadeh had his heart cut out while still alive before his body was dismembered and pieces were delivered to both his family and workplace. Law enforcement officials noted that one of the suspects, a woman, attempted to flee north before being captured.

Footage documenting the graphic murder was initially released on a Telegram channel before spreading widely across anti-government online platforms. Iranian police confirmed they are actively probing whether the attack was driven by personal grievances or organized terrorist motives.

🇪🇨 The key witness in the case against seven Ecuadorian soldiers accused of torturing and extrajudicially killing Bryan Ledesma was found decapitated on the side of a road Friday in the western Ecuadorean port city of Yaguachi.

Drop Site contributor Camila Lourdes Galarza reports that in March, amid martial-law checkpoints, military raids, and U.S.-backed Ecuadorean operations purportedly targeting drug trafficking, soldiers detained Ledesma and his friend Yelibert Moreira after claiming they saw them discard suspected drugs. No drugs were ever recovered, and prosecutors later said neither man had committed a crime.

Soldiers then beat both men and tortured them with electric shocks. Ledesma died after being shocked while lying in a puddle of water. Moreira was hospitalized but survived to become a key witness against the seven soldiers charged in the case. He has now been murdered.

In recent months, Ecuador has deployed 75,000 soldiers, placed more than 70% of the country under military-enforced curfews, and carried out bombings as part of its U.S.-backed campaign purportedly targeting organized crime.

Ecuador’s Attorney General’s Office has recorded 244 complaints of excessive force in recent years and 23 reported extrajudicial killings in the last six months.
