URGENT REMINDER: we have extended the latest McCloud injury to feelings survey deadline to noon on Fri 19 Sept. If you are part of this legal claim, we urge you to complete the survey sent by Capital Law via email, otherwise we can no longer represent you. https://t.co/tQqRlOxP8L
The survey mentions additional costs/charges that members may have incurred as a result of the transition to the 2015 NHS Pension Scheme. Having incurred such costs/charges are NOT a pre-requisite for members to participate in this action, so we urge you to complete the survey
Reminder: If you are part of the BMA’s McCloud injury to feelings group legal claim, make sure you complete the latest survey emailed to you by Capital Law by this Fri 12 Sept, otherwise you will be removed from the claim.
We are once again calling upon @CapitaPlc , @NHSEngland and @NHSBSA to urgently work together to fix this significant problem, as all GPs are entitled to have access to accurate and up-to-date information about their pension.
Due to maladministration by Capita, more than half of GPs in England are missing vital information about their pensions, making planning their workloads impossible and having a negative impact on their mental and emotional wellbeing. https://t.co/HNrGPjend8
Our recent FOI request has revealed that 56% of GPs in England have missing years of pension data up to 2022/23. This shockingly equates to 18,575 GPs having one or more years of missing pension records and reflects a cumulative of 156,896 years of missing records.
Almost 1 in 4 GP Partners have reduced their hours by an average of 1.7 sessions a week because of the AA taper. This is potentially 4 million lost appointments a year. No one should have to #paytowork - the Government must urgently scrap the AA taper. https://t.co/KFeQVirrqG
1 in 5 consultants who responded to our survey said they had reduced their “regular overtime” this year due to the tapered annual allowance. We’re urging the Government to remove the annual allowance taper, as no one should be #payingtowork https://t.co/KFeQVirrqG
Our pensions survey has revealed that pension tax rules are potentially reducing NHS waiting list capacity by almost 10%. No one should be #payingtowork, the Government must scrap the annual allowance taper - https://t.co/KFeQVirrqG
Calling all Consultants, SAS and GP BMA members - please complete this survey so that we can understand how the annual allowance is impacting your ability to take on additional work.
Survey closes 26th February - only takes 3-5 minutes https://t.co/oPNMpo54cC
Calling all GP Partners.

Thank you @FordPete1234 for your excellent letter 👇
It is essential @wesstreeting & @TulipSiddiq understands this graph & why #TAPER is such a threat to waiting lists
@BMA_Pensions meeting minister later this month, if this affects you, let your MP know too
Pls RT if agree
The consultant pay deal was clear that all rates should be negotiated. If you are going to impose cuts, caps and cartels without agreement, expect doctors in our @theBMA to fight back.
1/ BREAKING: IMPORTANT updated pay chart based on today's @NHSDigital release of data to June 2024 from the superb @StuartHoddinott at @instituteforgov
So what does it show.. that pay (AND THEREFORE PENSIONS BASED ON THIS PAY) in the NHS has been comprehensively trashed
Pls RT!
This is of course, at the moment, speculation. Speculation that is seen before every budget albeit the speculation is louder this year, it is still just that
Any government would be foolish to not consider the secondary behavioural impacts in plans of senior people in the NHS
Complete nonsense from @Telegraph@journomadeleine 👇implying number of people getting £100k pensions is exploding (& trying to link it to pay awards). We told them it was nonsense BEFORE they published. Truth is its a TINY proportion, getting SMALLER.
Utter nonsense quote from @JohnRalfe1 too (not the only one). Full🧵tomorrow
1/2 NEW: Today we are expecting an interim release of the HMRC McCloud compensation tool promising "improvements to the income sub-journeys, scheme pays – credits & elections, and the ability for members to save and return"
However no need to do anything yet, not least because
IMPORTANT: Its crucially important higher earners at risk of #taper understand risks, especially in year where pay/pension has *started* to be *restored*👇[still way down]
With upcoming budget its crucially important policy makers understand risks @wesstreeting@jamesmurray_ldn
