@PTSDchat_ I can understand struggling with people thanking you for your service and not feeling you deserve it for many reasons. But you do need to be thanked. We have to find a way to accept it. We sometimes at me think I can save everyone which is not true. But I believe I can
@PTSDchat_ I still struggle even with what I think is a strong program … I have my dark days… by sharing with close friends they help hold me accountable… I hold me accountable.. I also at times get scared and wonder am I strong enough to keep working
@PTSDchat_ I spent 40 plus years not working my program… the last 8 have been … not always easy for sure.. but the last 8 have taught me the reasons why I need to … it’s taught me the reasons the first 40 didn’t work out so well
@PTSDchat_ I use my own experiences about me when sharing with someone.. and I remind people everyone journey is their own and not to judge theirs against mine
@PTSDchat_ one of the things that has been a help for me is talking about mental health in general and the need to respect it, the need to not minimize it.
@PTSDchat_ you feel vulnerable at first.. well each time but you also get to see the positives.. and I have to remember I am opening first to help me heal
