You may have seen this consultation before. Here’s why we’re asking for your feedback again –

Our original plans to improve key transport routes into and out of the city centre were consulted on

and were well received by you! We listened to your feedback and with that in mind, we have revised the scheme to be even more sustainable and safety conscious.

The scheme still sets out to achieve the same goals but proposes improved changes around greenery and street furniture,

⚠️ May we remind you that placing advertising banners on street furniture, lampposts, traffic signals, and pedestrian guardrail (as pictured) is strictly not permitted ❗️

It poses a number of health & safety issues, not to mention it is a prosecutable offence.

The @KirkgateCentre is home to many familiar high-street names & indie businesses, including F.Hinds. With over 35 stores, a market, 600 car parking spaces & nearby taxi rank, the Kirkgate Centre is still very much open for business. Show your support for your local high-street

The NCP car park has disappeared and Hall Ings is well on it's way to being fully pedestrianised, showing preparation for tree planting around the former Jacobs Well Roundabout in the last image 🌳✨

Please don't ignore the signs instructing you not to turn right from Croft Street to Manchester Road. They are there for your safety.

Don't be lazy. The correct right turn is only a few yards ahead and does NOT add any extra time to your journey.

Despite the many different road signs instructing drivers NOT to turn right from Croft Street onto Manchester Road, people are still making this illegal manoeuvre.

The Cat 352 UHD machine is the first of its kind to be delivered to the UK. It has a hydraulic pressure equivalent to 66 T rexes!

Just continue straight past the right turn and instead, bend round to the right just a few yards further. This is now the designated route which ties into our new city centre layout. It adds no extra journey time plus it avoids you being fined!
