“I’m glad you feel that way.” He checked Moin’s posture, extending a hand and fixing a few imperfections on his uniform. “Pull your gun out. Be formal.” In other words, be quick and don’t hesitate. “You remember . . Check the barrel.” “And refer to me correctly.”

Moin hated having one on one with Mideumi, especially when it felt like he was messing up, which he was. Staring at his General, “Thank you, General…” grabbing the gun, putting it on his holster. “It’s been very busy, I’ve haven’t gotten much rest but … I’m

“Stare ahead.” A gloved hand curled around the handle sticking out of his holster. “You’re going to borrow mine.” He waited for Moin to put the gun away, tucked into his own belt. “. . .You’re very forgetful today, Moin.”

He tilted his head very slightly, seeing if the other man would keep eye contact with him or if there was any shame there.

Nodding his head in agreement, knowing it was best to be quiet then talk more to Mideumi. “Ah… I left it…”

“Today is perfect, whether you think so or not.” He analyzes Moin’s uniform, “do you have your gun on you?”

Mideumi grazed over his desk, putting a few files in a drawer and replacing his gloves before turning back to Moin. But his eyes didn’t meet his until he closed some distance between them. “I need you to focus.” Adjusting the hem of his left hand glove.

With a heavy huff, “Wednesday…. Are you sure it was Wednesday? I remember Youngho was telling me that day that we were going out drinking, I would have remembered you telling me.” Following his instructions, “can we do this a different day?” With a nervous chuckle

His General pushed open a door, the one to his office. The scenery was a dark blue, the clouds in the sky were so thick it made four PM look like it was the late evening. “I told you Wednesday. . . “ A pause as he pointed his comrade to the middle of the room “It’s Sunday now.”

“General.” Following behind Mideumi, a bit impatient, wanting to hurry up this interaction. “Ah…” He definitely didn’t recall of an inspection, “I remembered…” With a click of the tongue, “when did you tell me? There was a lot going on these past few days.”

( @My_Nob0dy ) “Come with me.” The floorboard creaks with every other step, “We’re holding a unit inspection. . .” pausing for his subordinate to follow through the command. “I mentioned this on Wednesday, I didn’t think any if you needed a reminder.”

(He sighs, but not too discontented. Hence he moves to lean over the bed and press a kiss into Haneul’s temple. ) Then don’t tell me. (Fingers curling into the tenant’s hair before pulling away completely) What do you have planned for today, if it’s no bother asking.

…. Mideumi… I didn’t— … you… aren’t… very comforting if I talk about it…

It may be, but I assumed you knew of me. . . . Do you want to tell me?

…. Then why didn’t you say anything?… you know that creepy just walking in without telling me.

I’ve been here for seven minutes at least, Haneul. Were you not aware of me till now?

( His back faced Youngho, the only indication of any disapproval was the downward tilt of The General’s head ) You misread the situation. … What’s alarming is you making these assumptions purely on the gossip around the penthouse. Now, Go find Wonshik.

Well what I realized is, yes he’s a detective but people are less fearful of him… Like Kyungho or Minjae, those two are suspicious don’t you think? Together? Minjae knows your every steps he could provide KyungHo information that’s why he’s been avoiding us

Mideumi gave a positive nod to his head, hand snaking around the back of the tenant’s neck, underneath his hair. “I will see you then.” He pushed Haneul to use his feet, instructing to walk in front of him “There’s a hotel just down the street after a light… Do you understand?”

With a slight nod, maybe it was best being alone, there wasn’t any point of him being there anyways “okay…” He was surprised how affectionate Mideumi was being in public but perhaps that was just because they were in the alleyway “I-I’ll see you tomorrow…”

Oh, please he’s not that important of a source for any of us. He will be in our hands anyway. Do as you’re told.

We don’t want to lose his trust General…. If I do arrest him and have the information we need what will happen afterwards?

Both hands came up and smoothed down Haneul’s sleeves, falling away and folding into each other behind him. He gave a nod, “I won’t. Tonight has only begun, if I did I would only serve as an interruption.” “You will be safer away. That’s what matters right now.”

The tension of Mideumi finally calmed down, Haneul felt like he could breath one Mideumi broke eye contact. Exhaling once the general hands went to his chest, “will you be there?…” his eyes now on his “tonight?”

There’s no need for it. (Immediately dismissing the offer. ) Find him and arrest him. We don’t have time to play around with the detective. Understood?

*slowly nodding his head * Ah, Wonshik and I were getting along well, just give me a few more days… he’ll tell me what I need to know it’s just it seems like he’s been spending more time with KyungHo then before … I can get in his head, I just need more time.

“…Here’s what you’re going to do.” His hands slid away from Haneul’s shoulder and back to his chest, fixing up his collar and wrinkles of his shirt. “You are going to sleep elsewhere tonight, I will send the money to you.” “And tomorrow… You can tell me what happened.”

His eyes were prying, practically unblinking. It was as if he was looking into the depths of Haneul’s own and putting together what Haneul had seen through them. But, when the tenant gave up on the description, Mideumi finally broke contact. Looking off to the side.

He couldn’t get any rest especially when Mideumi pestering him, especially how close he was . His whole body leaning against the wall his head tilted away once the General got closer “… uh…” with a loud gulp “H-he has long hair, older forties…”

(Mideumi smiled, nothing genuine) Its our job to take information if it means we can use it (Tossing the board of papers down on a nearby surface, clashing with the wood sharply) —Otherwise, what’s the point of our job (Mideumi leaned over the surface) We’re going to arrest him

He said he has more information about KyungHo but was worried that you would take the information for yourself… He seemed to dance around their relationship too… I’ve noticed they have gotten closer… *with a heavy sigh * I believe he’s trying to protect him.

He didn’t break contact, in fact his hold on the other grew once reciprocated. The general comes close to the other man’s face, with a harsh whisper; “𝘛𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦.”

These nights were always busy. Having soldiers patrol and enter homes of uneasy or hostile residents for a majority of its duration. Not to mention finding the tenants that more than suspiciously ran away from the penthouse… What could he do right now?
