I get that rail is important to millions as a service, but it is also how I make a living. I post in a personal capacity, often in the context of it being my job, rather than as a general commentary of the service. I do like to have a little fun with it. I hope you understand.
In theory, Thameslink, East-West Rail and the Elizabeth Line between them should make sure Universal is well connected to all of London’s airports and Eurostar at St Pancras. They should include Wixhams on Midland services too, to better connect it to the North.
I am super curious to see this play out. The location chosen is a 2 hour drive from London so it will definitely be aimed at UK rather than International tourists and the price point is going to be real interesting to see what they charge compared to other UK parks
I also wonder whether we’ll begin to see the typeface across the GTR network now on replacement signage. Implementation has been extremely limited up until now, unlike elsewhere in the country. SWR and SER too…
Ok, so when is @TLRailUK CIS switching over to using Rail Alphabet 2, like NWR termini have? I think it’s a quick win for getting GBR visual identity out there. I wonder if the process is more complicated for TOC managed stations though, as compared to NWR managed ones.

@PDJSwallow I actually think a GBR interior would be more newsworthy than a new vinyl wrap. It’s what you’ll spend most time looking at/sitting in and it’ll give you an idea of priorities and how much the new world order is willing to spend on the passenger experience.
🚨 NEW: Universal has revealed the logo for United Kingdom Resort opening in Bedford in 2031
The Government says it will support the project by investing £1.3bn to upgrade nearby infrastructure
@____Foxtrot____ I think you’re tapping into something much bigger, it isn’t just the police the public are losing faith in. A lot has been said and written about our transition from high-trust society to low in recent times which, obviously, is going to have a massive impact on policing.
@MarkH_Photo It makes me really angry that a young man’s violent death was made worse by what happened, when he should’ve been comforted and properly taken care of at that moment. I think public anger in that sense is perfectly justified, though it spilling over into disorder, clearly is not.
@MarkH_Photo I get the desire from ex-officers to want to support those serving, but some are mitigating and claiming those who have not served can’t know what they’re talking about. You don’t have to be a copper to know that a fatally injured man should never have been arrested and cuffed.
To my Welsh and Scottish friends, and to those of other nationalities: I am an Englishman, for my sins, so I will support them passionately and patriotically, but I promise to try to avoid #itscominghome, except in the unlikely event it actually does. 😂🏴🏴🏴
