Pastor Matthew Olson of First Baptist Church of Sharon preached through the entire Bible—from Genesis to Revelation—for 96 consecutive hours, setting a Guinness World Record for the longest marathon speech.

The sermon, which ran from May 30 to June 4, was inspired by a missionary training exercise where Olson spent 96 hours in the woods without access to a Bible and came away with a deep longing for God's Word.

Church leaders said the experience sparked a vision in Olson to see "the Bible preached for 96 hours uninterrupted from Genesis to Revelation." Despite losing his voice after the first 12 hours, Olson recovered and continued, with medical staff later reporting his voice was stronger than when he began.

While some critics dismissed the effort as a gimmick, church leaders emphasized that the goal was to exalt Scripture, not break records. As discipleship pastor Rich Gray said, “God’s word will not return unto him void.”

Ashlyn Brooke Keith has been sharing updates throughout her daughter Marlee Kate’s battle with a rare brain tumor known as an ependymoma.

Earlier this year, doctors discovered the cancerous tumor, leading to surgery and weeks of proton radiation treatments. Throughout the difficult journey, Marlee’s family continued asking people to pray and trust God through the uncertainty.

Before her latest scans, Ashlyn shared that Marlee herself had been praying and believing God for healing while feeling nervous ahead of the appointment.

Then came the update the family had been hoping for.

“God is good. Our girl is CANCER FREE,” Ashlyn wrote online.

According to the family, doctors had previously been hopeful after successfully removing the tumor during surgery, with radiation aimed at eliminating any remaining cancer cells.

Now, after months of fear, prayer, and recovery, Marlee’s testimony is encouraging many people online to continue trusting God during difficult battles.
