I built this map using real NOAA VIIRS satellite data, retrieved via Google Earth Engine, and animated it in Python.
i am fascinated by this kind of data visualization and what it means for the future of impact reporting.

Kenya's President, William Ruto, warns that the African Union #AU is "not fit for purpose" and cannot steer the "continent into the future".
“I can tell you without an iota of doubt that the African Union, as it is today, is not fit to provide the leadership that this continent needs going into the future. Therefore, there's need for the reforms of the African Union”.
On the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, we mourn the victims & pay tribute to the survivors.
We must learn from past failures & protect the living — by rejecting hatred, inflammatory rhetoric & incitement to violence.
In 2024, Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed and his wife enjoyed a morning run on Kigali’s iconic green track, a space designed to make fitness, dignity, and urban beauty accessible to everyone.
Today, Ethiopia inaugurates its own world-class running track and sports park. A powerful reminder that when African nations inspire each other, we all rise.
