How (historically I suppose) has America got itself into a situation where partisan judges are the norm?
It just seems crazy.

You have (say) a 30% margin with normal staff and 5% with agency. Who would refuse the 5% from the extra business?
@utb_smith I think the point is that if the successful coaches at the top of the German and other top leagues featured no Germans, they still wouldn't appoint a non-German.
@untypicalboro We have a problem that our 'elite' clubs only want managers with 'elite' club experience.
Inevitably that means they come from abroad.
Nonetheless I don't think that medals and trophy thing applies to international football anyway
@untypicalboro I was in the Holgate that day and went home after a bit of a sing song.
But the diehards were rewarded a bit later when the players came back out in their bathrobes to wave to the crowd.

The 'refs need to be consistent' argument can be applied to any laws of the game and long applied interpretations
