Just finished reading Fraction, Aja & Hollingsworth’s Hawkeye. Now moving on to Lemire, Smallwood & Bellaire’s Moon Knight. Aja and Smallwood are modern masters. Every page is a delight.
I say this with a heavy heart, My father passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is a legend in the art world and it would be my honor to follow in his footsteps. Please keep your thoughts and condolences here out of respect for my family.
He was the greatest man I ever met.
First time encountering DD in Marvel Snap. Sad that I’ll basically have to become a much better gamer and reach late game to obtain his card for real. I like his ability tho.
Yeah so I finished reading Watchmen a second time. Still came to the same conclusion that Rorschach is very obviously the most sympathetic and (anti-)heroic main character in this story. Remind me why this take is controversial again?
Re-reading Watchmen rn for a University class. I’m just reminded of how much of a masterpiece this comic is and how much detail and world-building is going on in every panel and every page. Even the fake Hollis Mason autobiography chapter was a piece of amazingly engaging prose
Kinda sad that American comics is still such a niche hobby even though its characters have gone mainstream. I know part of this is the big two’s own making but it’s truly sad that so much good work by ridiculously talented creators aren’t being fully appreciated by the public
@CTropes Definitely color. All too often I see really stylized work get muddied by someone who tries to apply more “realistic” coloration where it absolute does not fit. Stylized ink-work like this is more complimented by grainy, flat, 80s-90s looking coloration. Examples of what I mean.
